Waste Heat Recovery Boiler (WHRB) in Chemical Plant

We have high experience in designing, supplying and installing waste heat recovery boiler for chemical plants. It may provide WHR boiler for various applications like Sulfuric Acid Plants , Nitric Acid plants , Dichromate plants , Caprolactum Plants etc.

1) Sulphuric Acid Plant:

In sulphuric acid plants, the WHB is designed to withstand gas-side operating pressures of up to 5,000 mmWC, necessitating the use of a specific economizer and superheater. The steam produced by the boiler is used to melt sulphur and power the primary air blower. Steam can also be utilized to generate power.

Features:

  • Both fire-tube and water-tube constructions are available; fire-tube boilers can be produced in both flexible and fixed tube-sheet designs.
  • Cast iron gill ring economizer to prevent sulphur corrosion
  • Equipment (boiler, superheater, economizer) are spread around the converter
  • Gas outlet temperature control was provided for the efficient conversion of acid gases

2) Nitric Acid/Caprolactum Plant:

Thermin Energy System offers a WHR boiler for nitric acid plants that are designed for use in both low and high-pressure systems.

Features:

  • Both natural circulation fire tube and forced circulation water tube designs are offered.
  • NH3 burner included with the unit
  • Gas-tight construction using stainless steel material
  • Heating coils prevent dew point corrosion, and wall cooling coils preserve the shell
  • Lamont nozzles for consistent water distribution in the coils
