Waste Heat Recovery Boiler (WHRB) in Refinery Petrochemical Plant

Fluid catalytic cracking unit (FCCU)

We provide waste heat recovery boilers (WHRB), also known as flue gas coolers (FGC), for fluid catalytic cracking units (FCCU). Its FCCU WHRB boilers can be configured to handle huge gas flows in excess of 500,000 Nm3/hr of catalytic dust-containing flue gas at temperatures above 700°C. The FCCU WHRB unit, designed and supplied for Reliance Industries Ltd. (India) for the Jamnagar refinery complex, is one of the world's largest.

There are two technology choices available for FCCU WHRB:

  • Directly downstream of FCCU.
  • ‘CO’ gas boiler downstream of FCCU

Product Features:

  • Designed to handle carryover catalytic dust.
  • Natural circulation design with entire membrane panel construction to address the sulphur dew point constraints.
  • Fully drainable superheater design; co-current and drainable economizer design.
  • Soot blowers at suitable places to counteract the effect of dust-laden gases.
  • Vibration arrestors assist prevent tube vibration and subsequent failures.

Operating Range:

  • Capacities: Up to 400 TPH
  • Pressure: : Up to 110 kg/cm sq(g)
  • Temperature: Up to 540°C
